Jason Bonham
Jason John Bonham (born July 15, 1966 in Dudley , Worcestershire , Great Britain ) is a British drummer , songwriter and singer . He is the son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who died in 1980 .
Career
Jason Bonham began learning to play drums at the age of four under the guidance of his father. At 17 he made his debut in his first band, before joining the rock band Virginia Wolf in 1985 and recording two albums with them. In 1987 he recorded the album Outrider with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and went on tour with him. The following year he performed with all of the remaining Led Zeppelin musicians on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their former record label Atlantic Records .
He released his first hard rock- oriented solo album with his own compositions in 1989 under the title The Disregard of Timekeeping . In the following years he was seen repeatedly with Led Zeppelin cover bands and produced other albums. From 2003 to 2006 he played with the British rock band UFO , then with Foreigner until 2008 . On December 10th 2007 he took over the role of his father as drummer at the reunion concert of Led Zeppelin in the O2 Arena .
In 2010 Bonham teamed up with Glenn Hughes , Joe Bonamassa and Derek Sherinian to form the group Black Country Communion . The formation produced a joint album. After their breakup in 2013, Bonham and Hughes formed the band California Breed together with guitarist Andrew Watt . In 2014 Bonham joined the group The Circle of the singer Sammy Hagar and produced an album with them.
In 2009 Bonham began working with singer James Dylan , which led to the Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience project , a tribute to his father's band. With interruptions and a changing line-up, Bonham is still on tour with it today.
