The Mannequin is an alternative rock band from Toronto , Canada .
history
The band was formed by Care Failure (real name Caroline Kawa) after her parents kicked her out when she was sixteen. In 2006 her first EP How to Kill was released , which she recorded alone. Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P from MSTRKRFT helped her with the production . In the same year drummer Pat. M and bassist Ethan Deth from The Big Dirty Band joined the band. The latter is replaced a short time later by Anthony Bleed from Kill Cheerleader . This was followed by the first tour in the support act of Guns N 'Roses . In the summer of 2006 the band signed a record deal with EMI , but soon after founded their own record label How To Kill Music under the umbrella of Warner Music Canada .
In 2007 the band released the EP Slaughter Daughter , on which two songs each were produced by Ian D'Sa by Billy Talent and two by Junior Sanchez. In addition to the band's previous releases, the 2008 compilation Unicorn Steak also featured a cover version of Hand in Hand by Beatsteaks . The Mannequins first album called Fino & Bleed was released in September 2009 . Then the band went on tour through Canada in the opening act of Marilyn Manson .
