The Mercedes-Benz CharterWay GmbH is a joint venture of Mercedes-Benz Bank and Mercedes-Benz Sales Germany since 1992 provides services and mobility around the procurement, the service and the management of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles .
history
The company has been offering temporary rental (leasing) since 1994. Regular vehicle rental was added in 1998. Since 2000, vehicles including drivers can also be rented.
In 2001 Mercedes stood in front of a dump of unsold trucks. The sector was in the red, while the car sector was booming. Then it was decided to use the surplus in one area to stimulate the other: the background was that at this point in time the normal commercial banks were not ready to give most small business owners loans for new trucks. A truck is too expensive to buy, which is why MB Charterway itself took over the financing of commercial vehicles to be rented or leased with this model without greater security.
In autumn 2003, the transport company model was developed as a joint concept by MB CharterWay and Mercedes-Benz Bank. These are vehicle-related service packages for transport companies of forwarding and logistics companies. These include both financing services and rental products for vehicle procurement. In 2008 the company introduced a follow-up guarantee.

The company looks after around 100,000 commercial vehicles and 70 rental outlets across Germany. It offers both new and used vehicles. The rental product line has a fleet of more than 7,000 vehicles - from standard vehicles to industry solutions (freezer, construction site, agricultural or garbage trucks, etc.) optionally with semi-trailers or trailers .
