Nothing More is an American alternative metal band from San Antonio , Texas. The musicians have released six studio albums so far.

history

Jonny Hawkins and Mark Vollelunga met in a tent camp when Hawkins heard Vollelunga play the guitar there. Both were in seventh grade of high school at the time. The two became friends and played various jam sessions together during their school days. In 2003 they officially founded the band Nothing More. In 2004 bassist Daniel Oliver was added.

The line-up has changed three times since it was founded. Jonny, Daniel and Mark have always been part of the band. The first big change happened in 2008 when the second guitarist and the singer at the time left the band. Jonny Hawkins was the drummer of Nothing More at the time, but took over that role after the singer left. On the album The Few Not Fleeting , Jonny Hawkins also works as a drummer. In 2012, Paul O'Brien joined as the new drummer. In September 2015 Paul O'Brien left the band for personal reasons and was replaced by Ben Anderson.

Of their first five albums, four were released without a label. The breakthrough came with their album released in 2014 by Eleven Seven Music , which they named after themselves. It contains the two singles This Is the Time (Ballast) and Mr. MTV , which reached number 2 and 12 respectively on Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs . The album Nothing More came in at number 33 on the Billboard 200. In April 2015, the music video for the song Jenny was released. This title deals with mental illnesses and alcohol and drug abuse. With this title the band would like to a. Draw attention to the bipolar affective disorder that Jonny's sister Jenna also suffers from. On November 16, 2015, the fourth video for Here's to the Heartache was released.

The 6th album, titled 'The Stories We Tell Ourselves', was released on September 15, 2017 and reached # 2 in the Independent Album category of the Billboard Charts and # 2 in the category of Loudwire Magazine's Album of The Year . The single 'Go to War' was selected as the soundtrack for a trailer for the film Planet of the Apes and was number 1 on the Active Rock Charts and number 1 on the Loudwire Hard Rock Songs of 2017 for 2 weeks.
