To Write Love on Her Arms is an interfaith American non-profit organization based in Melbourne , Florida . The organization was founded by Jamie Tworkowski in October 2006. To Write Love on Her Arms is aimed at people who live with psychological problems such as depression , dependent people, as well as people who have the urge to self-harm or to commit suicide . One of the main tasks of the organization is to refer such people to clinics , information centers or self-help groups .

The association receives income from the sale of special T-shirts or from concerts by bands that support the organization. The main reason for the establishment of was written by Jamie Tworkowski 2006 story about the 19-year-old Renee Yohe, which among other things, a drug addict , was with depression , self-harm struggled and tried suicide to commit.
The story of Yohe was made into a film in 2012. Kat Dennings , Chad Michael Murray , Corbin Bleu and Rupert Friend could be won as actors .
Several bands processed the story of Yohes in their songs, including Skillet , A Skylit Drive and Between the Trees .
Supporters of the organization declared the week from September 10th to September 17th to be "To Write Love on Her Arms Week", in which fans involved try to spread the message of To Write Love on Her Arms.
On November 25, 2010, Rolling Stone magazine published an article about the organization. As early as September 12, 2008, NBC showed a report about the organization on NBC Nightly News . Even CBS already reported on To Write Love on Her Arms in the CBS Morning News in October 2010.
