The Blackout was a British rock band from Merthyr Tydfil , South Wales .

Career

Since it was founded in 2003, the band has played at many festivals, such as the Give It a Name Festival 2006. They performed with bands such as Linkin Park , Funeral for a Friend , Fightstar , Avenged Sevenfold , Reuben and Lostprophets .

A close friendship quickly developed between them and the Lostprophets, so that The Blackout appeared as a support band for the 2006 Liberation Tour for Lostprophets. In 2010 they supported Lostprophets again and went on tour with them.

In 2006 they were also awarded the Kerrang! Award nominated for the best British newcomer , which Bring Me the Horizon won.

In October 2006 their first EP The Blackout! The blackout! The blackout! and in October of the following year their first album We are the Dynamite .

In the same month they toured Europe with The Used , Gallows , Aiden , At The Farewell Party and Rise Against on the Taste of Chaos Tour.

On May 25, 2009, their second studio album The Best in Town was officially released in Europe. A music video was shot for the first single Children of the Night .

A good three months after the second single, the single Save Our Selves (The Warning) was released on August 3, 2009 . A video was also shot for her.

The videos for Children Of The Night and Save Our Selves (The Warning) were shot one after the other. So you can see that the video of Save Our Selves (The Warning) follows directly on from the previous one.

The third single with I Don't Care (This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things) followed on November 13, 2009 . Josh Franceschi from the band You Me at Six has a guest appearance in the accompanying video .

In April 2011, Hope was the third album of the Blackouts. The working title of the album should have been according to Sean Smith Dog Porn , later he took it back and said he was just kidding. He made both statements in two Kerrang podcasts.

In 2010 they were also the opening act for Limp Bizkit on their European tour.

In December 2014, the band announced their split. They brought out another EP called Wolves . There was a final tour in spring 2015, which ended with a concert in her hometown of Merthyr Tydfil on March 28, 2015.
