Nightrain is a song by the American hard rock band Guns N 'Roses . It appeared on the debut album Appetite for Destruction and was released as a single about two years after it was released in July 1989. The piece reached number 93 on the Billboard 200 , making it the album's fourth single in the charts.

background

The song, which was written by the band in the mid-1980s, is about a cheap wine called Night Train Express , which was popular with the band members at the time. In contrast to this, a letter was left out of the song, so the title could also be interpreted as Night Rain , the chorus sang: "I'm on the Night (t) rain ... right in the Night (t) rain ... ".

The single was released after the release of G N 'R Lies and the resulting single Patience and was not particularly promoted. Nevertheless, the piece was ranked among the top 10 best drinking songs of all time by Guitar World magazine .

performance

The piece is a song that is very often played live, Slash wrote in his autobiography: "That song has a rhythm to it in the verses that from the start always made me go crazy. The first time we played it, even, I started jumping up and down - I couldn't help it. When we had our huge stage later on, I'd run the length of it, jump off the amplifiers, and lose it just about every single time we played it. I'm not sure why, but no other song we've ever played live made me move like that. " ("This song has a rhythm in the verse that always made me go crazy. The first time we played it, I started jumping up and down - I couldn't help it. When we were later on big stages played, I would run the full length of the stage, jumping off the amps, and getting lost every time we played it, I don't know why, but no other song we've ever played made me feel like that move.")
