Gilby Clarke (born August 17, 1962 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American guitarist .

Life

Clarke replaced Izzy Stradlin on rhythm guitar with the rock band Guns N 'Roses in 1991 and was part of the cast on the multi-year Use Your Illusion Tour . In 1993 he took part in the studio recordings for the album The Spaghetti Incident? . A year later, the singer Axl Rose kicked him out of the band after Clarke spoke negatively about him to the press . Since then, Clarke has recorded several solo albums and can also be heard on Slash's Snakepit's 1995 album .

In 2006 he founded the band Rock Star Supernova together with Tommy Lee ( Mötley Crüe ) and Jason Newsted (ex- Voivod and ex- Metallica ) .
