Darren "Dizzy" Reed (born June 18, 1963 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American musician. In the spring of 1990 he became a keyboardist with the hard rock band Guns N 'Roses and was the only remaining member of the " Use Your Illusion " era in the early 1990s , alongside Axl Rose, for two decades until the reunion in April 2016 . Before that he played with bands like The Wild and Hairy Bananas .

Musical career

Started at Guns N 'Roses

Reed originally came across Guns N 'Roses through personal problems. He was evicted from his home and asked for help from Axl Rose, front man of Guns N 'Roses. He loaned him some money to rent a new apartment. This ultimately led to the long musical collaboration and membership in the rock band.

Reed first appeared on stage with Guns N 'Roses at the Rock in Rio Festival in Brazil in 1991 , where he performed in front of 250,000 people. About this appearance he said:

“My first live show with Guns N 'Roses was' Rock In Rio.' It was like a blur. It was like: 'Man, I can't believe this!' I would be completely lying and ridiculous if I said I wasn't nervous for that. "

Its largest audience up to that point consisted of about 400 people.
