Skillet is an American Christian rock band that formed in Memphis , Tennessee in the mid-1990s . The band's music ranges from electronic music to industrial rock to Christian rock and has been heavily influenced by the rock band Fold Zandura . Since the album Collide (2003) there has been a realignment of the band.
history
Skillet's first album was released in 1996 under the title Skillet and was very popular. At that time the band still consisted of three members: John Cooper on bass, Trey McClurkin on drums and Ken Steorts on guitar. This compilation lasted until the third album ( Invincible , 2000), when Cooper's wife Korey joined the band (on keyboards) and guitarist Ken Steorts was replaced by Kevin Haaland. Soon after the release of the third album, Trey McClurkin left the band and was replaced by Lori Peters and later Jen Ledger, who not only plays drums but also plays in many songs such as B. in Hero can also be heard with vocals. Before the release of the fifth album ( Alien Youth , 2001) Kevin Haaland left the band again, which is why Ben Kasica came into the band.
On August 25, 2009, the album Awake was released, which entered the American album sales charts at number 2. It contains twelve songs. Hero was released as its first single on May 19, 2009 and Monster on July 14, 2009. Both songs were featured as theme songs on WWE Pay-Per-Views. The former at "Royal Rumble 2010", the latter at "Hell In A Cell 2009". The said songs are also in the video game WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2010 included. The album was also released as a deluxe edition with three other tracks. In February 2011 Ben Kasica left the band to devote himself to other projects. The replacement was guitarist Seth Morrison, who has already toured with Justifide and Our Heart's Hero. In 2017, the American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive League ELEAGUE used the song Feel Invincible in its transmissions.
