Monster is the second single from the 2009 album Awake by the American Christian rock band Skillet . The song is one of the band's most successful singles.
Music video
The music video for Monster was directed by the Erwin brothers and was released on Noisecreep on September 2, 2009 . It shows the band performing in a hospital room while lead singer and bassist John Cooper and guitarist Korey Cooper are being tested in the next room under the observation of a medical team. The video shows the two waking up during different tests in different parts of the hospital. Eventually they both escape, but are pursued by SWAT teams. Guitarist Ben Kasica and drummer Jen Ledger both appear as doctors at the beginning of the video. Skillet posted a making-of for the video in one of their podcasts . The music video had over 100 million views on YouTube in April 2015 and over 200 million views as of August 2017.
