The Sustlihütte is a SAC hut in the Meiental . The hut has 69 beds, 13 of them in the winter room.

history

Comrades of the Alpine Club who climbed the Wichelplanggstock stopped for lunch on July 9, 1911 at today's Hüttenplatz. They liked this place so much that they decided to build a hut there. The SAC - section Rossberg intended for a long time to build a hut. The section commissioned Walter home to plan a hut. With the outbreak of the First World War , the construction of the hut was delayed until 1915. The SAC contributed to the construction with 6200 francs. The section had to raise the remaining 6,800 francs. In the past, the ascent to the hut did not begin in Sustenbrüggli, but at Wassen station , which was operated by the Gotthard Railway at the time.

In 1970 the Sustlihütte was rebuilt according to plans by Jakob Eschenmoser and in 1992 a complete conversion took place.
