history
Zack Lopez and Seam Stockham formed the band Leisure in the mid-1990s. The band's line-up changed very often and despite expressions of interest from some big labels and producers, the band was disbanded in the early 2000s.

At the end of 2007, the first single New Low came out. The song is still the best known of Middle Class Rut and attracted attention back then. So it was song of the year 2008 of the local radio station KWOD. The band then released several EPs. So they drew the attention of New Musical Express , Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1 on itself. In 2009 and 2010, Middle Class Rut supported Social Distortion , Alice in Chains , Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures .
Her first studio album, No Name No Color, was released in the United States on October 5, 2010, followed by a UK release on November 22. The album contains many of the songs previously released on EPs. Several tours followed as headliner and support act.
On April 16, 2013, the music video for Aunt Betty was featured on Loudwire . The album Pick Up Your Head was released on June 28th .
In 2017 Middle Class Rut released the album Strangler Days , which contains mostly unreleased songs from previous years. In 2018 the new studio album Gutters was released .
