The Struts are an English rock band from Derby .

Band history

The head of the quartet is Luke Spiller. He grew up in south west England. Even as a child he was enthusiastic about stage personalities such as Michael Jackson , Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger and worked on his own stage career as a musician. In 2012 he founded the band The Struts in Derby with guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott and drummer Gethin Davies and made a name for himself through regular appearances. Mike Oldfield finally found out about him in 2014 when he was looking for guest singers for his album Man on the Rocks . Instead of just one song, Spiller was even allowed to sing the entire album. The Struts were then engaged to support Black Sabbath at their Hyde Park concert.

The resulting popularity benefited them with their debut album Everybody Wants , with which they made it straight into the British charts . But she moved on to the United States. They moved to Los Angeles in 2015 , appeared on U.S. television, and toured the States in the spring of 2016. Then they released the album in North America and also came into the US album charts . With Could Have Been Me and Kiss This they also had two top 10 hits in the US alternative charts and were also successful in the rock charts. They were hired as the opening act for Guns n 'Roses , the Rolling Stones and the Foo Fighters and released other songs such as One Night Only and Body Talks with Kesha , which made the rock and alternative charts again in the USA. For October 2018 they announced their second album Young & Dangerous . They went on their Body Talks tour with the bands Spirit Animal and White Reaper. They also released a remix of their single "Body Talks" together with the US singer / songwriter Kesha. Their second album "Young & Dangerous" was released on October 26th, 2018. In 2019 the band was on tour in the USA, then in the fall in the UK and Europe. Kyle Falconer from The View , a very good friend of the band and Luke himself, accompanied the band in the UK and Europe as a support act. In 2020 the band plans to release new songs. According to Luke, they are considering no longer releasing them as a regular album this time, but as individual songs accompanied by videos.
