The View are an indie rock band of four from Dundee , Scotland . The band emerged in early 2005 from various domestic cover bands and made a name for themselves as the opening act for British bands such as Babyshambles , Primal Scream and The Undertones .

biography

The band name is derived from the "Bayview Bar" in Dundee, where the band had their first rehearsal room. It was from here that the band began their triumphal march in early 2005, recorded their first demos and attracted the attention of record companies. They also gave Pete Doherty a demo tape, which also increased their popularity. In the spring of 2006 the band signed a contract with the indie label 1965 Record . A short time later , the first songs were recorded with producer Owen Morris , who had previously produced Oasis and The Verve . During the second half of 2006, the singles Wasted Little DJ’s and Superstar Tradesman , which made it into the UK's top 20, were released. In January 2007, the single Same Jeans was released , which made it to number 3. At the end of January, the debut album Hats Off to the Buskers was released , which entered the British album charts from 0 to 1.

The other studio albums which were released in 2009, 2011 and 2012, Which Bitch? , Bread and Circuses and Cheeky for a Reason also reached high chart positions in the UK.
