The NHL series from the US software developer EA Sports is an ice hockey computer game series that is expanded each year by a title with the latest data and features.
Features
The teams of the eponymous NHL are fully licensed. Little by little, the ranks of playable teams for European top leagues (the German DEL , the Swedish Elitserien , the Finnish Liiga , the Czech Extraliga , the Swiss National League , the Austrian EBEL , the Swedish Allsvenskan and the European Champions Hockey League ) became North American Professional and junior leagues ( AHL , CHL ) and national teams added.
The number of playable tournaments varies in each version. In addition to the friendly game, tournament or playoff mode, as well as the so-called dynasty mode, in which you can start a multi-year managerial career at a certain club, certain tournaments were also included in individual versions, such as B. the World Cup of Hockey is one of the features of the NHL series. In the individual parts there are different levels of skill, which enable the player to continuously increase from the easiest to the most difficult level of difficulty. Authentic sounds, fan chants and the commitment of well-known commentators, such as B. Jim Hughson or Gary Thorne also add to the increased reality with each part of the series. Since the NHL 2000 , every game has featured a soundtrack from various well-known rock bands, such as B. Garbage , Sum 41 , Ash , Bullet for My Valentine , Franz Ferdinand , Billy Talent , Barenaked Ladies , Jimmy Eat World , Queens of the Stone Age , Anti-Flag or Hurt .
