Gameplay and changes

Eliminator

A big innovation in NHL 20 is the Eliminator mode , which is supposed to be based on the Battle Royale genre. In the tournament it should be possible to compete against 81 other players in NHL ONES or NHL Threes. After three elimination rounds, the winner will be announced.

Squad Battle

There will also be an innovation for the Hockey Ultimate Team in NHL 20 : a mode called Squad Battle , in which the player can compete offline against a selection of teams.

CHEL Challenges

The already existing Worlds of CHEL mode will also receive some innovations. This includes 2,000 new customization options for your own character and four new outdoor locations. Also new are the CHEL Challenges , in which you can play in weekly events for unique customization options.

Animations

In NHL 20 , EA will add more shot animations from famous players.

EA will also add new save animations for goalkeepers to block more shots.

Team celebrations

The Team Celebrations will also be an innovation in NHL 20 . After the Carolina Hurricanes post-game celebrations were a hit, EA will be adding a handful of team celebrations. These celebrations are carried out by the Hurricanes by default, but can also be unlocked and activated for the EASHL team.
