Scorpion Child is a classic rock - band from Austin (Texas) .
history
The band was formed in Austin, Texas in 2006 . After smaller appearances in the local scene, the band was able to draw attention to itself for the first time in front of a larger audience at the 2010 SXSW Music Festival in Austin. In June 2013 their self-titled debut album was released.
style
The band sees itself influenced by the krautrock and psychedelic rock of the early 1970s, by bands like Pentagram , Hairy Chapter and Lucifer's Friend as well as by the Southern blues of Blind Willie Johnson , Lemon Jefferson or Willie McTell .
