As Lions is a metal band from London , United Kingdom , formed in 2015 .
history
After the metalcore band Rise to Remain broke up in 2015, singer Austin Dickinson , guitarist Will Homer and bassist Conor O'Keefe officially formed As Lions, although the musicians were still working on the band while Rise to Remain was in existence . After David Fee and Stefan Whiting, a drummer and a bassist, joined the trio, O'Keefe switched to electric guitar and keyboard . In December of the year they were founded, the band signed a record deal with Eleven Seven Music .
In October 2016, the band released their debut EP, Aftermath, with four titles on the label. Dave Bendeth , who has already worked with Of Mice & Men , Paramore and Bring Me the Horizon , was responsible as producer .
As Lions has already played sold-out concerts in the UK, supporting Trivium and performing at the Camden Rocks music festivals and the Download Festival . Together with Five Finger Death Punch , Shinedown and Sixx AM , As Lions made their first appearances in the United States in October and November of 2016 .
On January 20, 2017, the band's debut album Selfish Age was released. As on the EP, Bendeth was responsible as a producer on the album. In April and May 2017 As Lions toured as the opening act for I Prevail on their North American tour , which will also be accompanied by Starset , Cover Your Tracks and Vamps .
style
As Lions play a variant of Metal that is comparable to Of Mice & Men and the newer Bring Me the Horizon . Compared to his father Bruce , Austin Dickinson feels at home in the modern rock music of the US style of playing, so that the music bears a resemblance to Linkin Park , 30 Seconds to Mars or Five Finger Death Punch .
