Austin Dickinson (born September 23, 1990 in Chiswick , London , United Kingdom ) is a British metal singer.

Life

Austin Dickinson is one of two sons of British heavy metal musician Bruce Dickinson , the singer for Iron Maiden . His brother Griffin plays in the band Shvpes , which are signed to Spinefarm Records .

Career

In 2007, Dickinson was the lead singer of the British metalcore band Rise to Remain, with whom he released two self-published EPs and an album via EMI Records and entered the British album charts. The band broke up in 2015, with As Lions the successor band being launched on the day they split up.

In an interview with Loudwire , his father Bruce Dickinson stated that his sons were criticized by the music society for his sake, because it was only thanks to their famous father that their bands quickly got record deals with major music companies. Dickinson explained that Austin's band, like many other groups, quickly became known and imploded, so that a new project had to be founded.

As Lions received a record deal with Eleven Seven Music in the year they were founded . The debut EP Aftermath was released in October 2016, followed a year later by the debut album Selfish Age .
