Wötz is a district of the municipality of Kuhfelde in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Wötz residential area is six kilometers southwest of Kuhfelde. In the south lies the Wötz forest area, formerly known as “Der Woetz”.

history

The first written mention of Wötz comes from the year 1561 as the wuste dorfstede zw wuesten in a feudal letter for those from the Knesebeck to Kolborn and Tylsen about the deserted villages to Niephagen, Lüchow (partly) and "Wuest". In the Tylsener Gutsakten, the Wötze (formerly the desert ) corridor is mentioned , which has been cultivated by ten farmers from Hohenlangenbeck since 1592 . In 1609 it says: The desert village town of the desert. In 1800 the community of Hohenlangenbeck still had 160 acres of the desert field of Wötz for agriculture on a temporary lease.

The Vorwerk Wötz was laid out in the 19th century . No traces of the desert settlement have yet been found.

Incorporations

The Vorwerk Wötz belonged to the Tylsen manor district . This was dissolved on September 30, 1928 and the Vorwerk Wötz was merged with the rural community of Leetze. On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Leetze (with its district or residential area Wötz) and the municipality of Hohenlangenbeck from the district of Salzwedel merged to form the new municipality of Heidberg . On March 1, 1973, the municipality of Heidberg from the Salzwedel district was incorporated into the municipality of Siedenlangenbeck. So the Heidberg districts Wötz and Leetze came to Siedenlangenbeck. On July 1, 2009, Siedenlangenbeck was incorporated into Kuhfelde, so that the district of Wötz became part of the Kuhfelde community.
