Hohenlangenbeck is a district of the municipality of Kuhfelde in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Hohenlangenbeck, a round village with a church, is located about five kilometers southwest of Kuhfelde and 13 km southwest of the district town of Salzwedel . To the west of the village lies the Haidberg forest and north of the Wötz. The village is surrounded by the Salzwedel-Diesdorf nature reserve.

history

In 1112 a place called Langebecke (Langenbeck) was mentioned. The Hamersleben monastery owned five farms there. In 1178 a place called lungebike (Langenbeck) was named, which belonged to the Hamersleben monastery. Whether this Langenbeck stands in the documents for Siedenlangenbeck or Hohenlangenbeck cannot be said exactly, as historians today agree.

In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 both Langenbecks are listed: Langebeke and Wendischen Langebeke , both of which belong to Dambeck Abbey.

Other names for the village date from 1608 as Wendisch Langebegk and 1687 as Wendisch Langebeck . In 1804 the village is called Hohen- or Wendisch Langenbeck.

In 1959 an agricultural production cooperative (probably of type III) was founded in the village , the LPG “10. Anniversary". It was founded in 1975 with the LPG in Leetze, the LPG "Eichengrund" Bierstedt, the LPG "Einigkeit" Mehmke and the LPG "V. Party congress "Hohengrieben for LPG (T)" Unity "Bierstedt merged.

In 1985 a 43-gram meteorite fell in a forest near Hohenlangenbeck and was officially registered under the name "Salzwedel". The meteorite belongs to type LL5 of the common chondrites , its main mass is kept in the Museum für Naturkunde (Berlin) .

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the communities Hohenlangenbeck and Leetze from the district of Salzwedel merged to form the new community Heidberg . On March 1, 1973, this municipality of Heidberg was incorporated into the municipality of Siedenlangenbeck from the Salzwedel district . This brought the district of Hohenlangenbeck to Siedenlangenbeck.

On July 1, 2009, Siedenlangenbeck merged with other municipalities to form the new municipality of Kuhfelde, thereby making the district of Hohenlangenbeck part of the municipality of Kuhfelde.
