Siedenlangenbeck is a district of the municipality of Kuhfelde in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Siedenlangenbeck, an anger village with a church, is located about 12 km southwest of the district town of Salzwedel and 20 km east or south of the Lower Saxony state border.

The district covers an area of 18.55 km² and is naturally located at the transition from the Mild Lowlands in the east to the Jeetze-Dumme-Lehmplatte in the west. It extends from the Jeetze and Hartau in the east (approx. 25  m above sea  level ) slowly rising to the edge of the Bierstedter Holz forest area in the west, where Siedenlangenbeck's highest elevation is reached at 89 m. In the north-east of the district, gravel is extracted from the Hüttenberg .

history

In 1112 a place called Langebecke (Langenbeck) was mentioned. The Hamersleben monastery owned five farms there. In 1178 a place called lungebike (Langenbeck) was named, which belonged to Hamersleben monastery.

Whether the above Langenbeck stands in the documents for Siedenlangenbeck or Hohenlangenbeck cannot be said exactly, as historians today agree.

In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 both Langenbecks are listed: Langebeke and Wendischen Langebeke , both of which belong to Dambeck Abbey.

The above Langebeke was later called Deüdsche Langebegk , Teutschen Langebeck , 1775 Nieder- or Sieden-Langenbeck and 1804 Sieden- or Deutsch Langenbeck.

Incorporations

On the same day, the communities of Hohenlangenbeck and Leetze from the district of Salzwedel merged to form the new community of Heidberg .
