Thousand Foot Krutch (TFK) is an alternative metal band from Peterborough , Ontario ( Canada ).
history
Trevor McNevan formed the band in Peterborough, Ontario when he was still in school. Joel Bruyere, who has been friends with McNevan since childhood, got the position as bassist in the band. Hamilton's drummer Steve Augustine joined them.
Their first album That's What People Do was self-published and distributed. 2001 saw the first and only release on DJD Recordings Set It Off . While the sound of the band later became more rocky and independent, this album is still characterized by Limp Bizkit-like Nu Metal with a massive hip hop and rap content.
In 2003 the band signed with Tooth & Nail Records . There they released their albums Phenomenon , The Art of Breaking and The Flame In All Of Us . In 2004 Tooth & Nail also re-released Set It Off in a revised form. The album Welcome to the Masquerade followed in 2009 .
Since February 2010 Ty Dietzler has replaced Nick Baumhardt as guitarist. On May 28, a concert was recorded in front of 14,000 spectators in Edmonton, which was released on June 7, 2011 as a live DVD.
In September 2010 they contributed a song to the album Happy Christmas Vol. 5 by Tooth & Nail.
