Like a Storm is a hard rock band from Auckland , New Zealand . The brothers Chris, Matt and Kent Brooks founded them in 2005. They toured with Alter Bridge , Shinedown , Korn , Godsmack , Creed , Puddle of Mudd , Staind , Drowning Pool , Sick Puppies and many others.

Like a Storm toured in 2009 with Creed on their "Full Circle" reunion tour through the USA . Through the sales during the tour their first album entered The End of the Beginning in the Billboard's New Artist chart at number 61. The album was then in iTunes available.
In 2010 an extensive tour of America followed to support their first single Chemical Infatuation . The musicians performed with Shinedown , Skillet , Puddle of Mudd and Drowning Pool . Chemical Infatuation ranked 43rd in the US Active Rock Top 100 .
In 2011 they toured the US twice with Alter Bridge . In between tours, the band Like a Storm recorded Unplugged , which includes their most successful songs as acoustic versions.
The musicians traveled back to New Zealand in January 2012 and recorded the first acoustic DVD Southern Skies during this time . The DVD was released on February 22nd, 2012. This was followed by an acoustic tour through the USA, followed by a tour with Creed. During the tour it was decided to extend it by several dates.
The first headline tour followed in October 2012 to promote their upcoming second album Chaos Theory: Part 1 . The band's first music video followed the first single Never Surrender , which was released on November 21. The album was released two days later. There is also a cover version of Coolio's Gangsta’s Paradise on the album .
Like a Storm toured the US in 2013. In addition, a double CD called Live Album was released. The first CD contains recordings from a concert in America, and the second CD contains acoustic recordings that were produced in New Zealand.
In 2014 she toured the US again with Scott Stapp from Creed, Zach Myers from Shinedown and Saving Bell.
On January 5th, 2015 Like a Storm announced the title of their upcoming album Awaken the Fire .
