The Minutes are an Irish rock band from Dublin .
Band history
The cousins Mark Austin (guitar / vocals) and Shane Kinsella (drums) played together from an early age. The band The Minutes was formed when bassist Tom Cosgrave joined the band in 2006. At first, smaller concerts were played in Dublin and the surrounding area. This was followed by support shows for Mona , Supergrass , Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Von Bondies, among others . In 2008 the band released the single Harmonic , which reached number 36 on the Irish charts. In 2010 The Minutes played a total of eleven concerts at the South by Southwest .
In 2011, the debut album Marcata was released , named after the New York studio in which it was recorded with producer Kevin McMahon ( The Walkmen , Titus Andronicus ). James Felice ( Felice Brothers ), John Goodmanson and Rocky O'Reilly took part as guests . The album reached number 16 on the charts in Ireland. In 2011, they opened up for Flogging Molly on their Speed of Darkness tour. An independent European tour followed in 2012.

The band members of The Minutes describe their music as "dirty and pure rock and roll". They name " Thin Lizzy , Led Zeppelin , Jack White , Bob Dylan , The Smiths , The Beatles , Ramones [and] Fleetwood Mac " as their influences .
