The Von Bondies were an American rock band from Detroit that was founded around the turn of the millennium and initially played under the name Babykillers .
history
The band's debut album was produced by Jack White from the band The White Stripes , often used as a comparison . The group attracted particular attention through an argument between White and singer Jason Stollsteimer: The latter had criticized White's production, while the latter then beat him to hospital.
In 2003 they released a work called Raw and Rare , which consists of recordings from the John Peel broadcast . A year later, the Talking Heads' Jerry Harrison produced Pawn Shoppe Heart , which appeared on Sire Records and contained the hit C'mon C'mon (UK # 21), which was also the title track in the opening credits of the US television series Rescue Me is used.
The band also made a guest appearance in the much-discussed film 9 Songs by Michael Winterbottom .
On July 12, 2011 singer Jason Stollsteimer announced in an interview that the band had split up. In the meantime, the band's official website has also been taken offline.
The music style is mostly referred to as garage rock .
