The Walkmen is an indie rock band from New York , NY .

Career

The band was formed in 2000 from members of the Jonathan Fire Eater and The Recoys . The music style of the band is strongly based on the sound of "classical" instruments. In their own studio, Marcata Recording , they only record with analog devices.

Her debut album Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone received critical acclaim for its experimental nature and progressive style. The following album, Bows & Arrows , was named one of the best US albums of the year.

Since 2013 the band has been pausing their work together for an indefinite period. Since then, the members have devoted themselves to various solo projects.
