The TSV Lesum is a sports club from the Bremen district Burglesum . The first soccer team played for 31 years in the highest amateur league in Bremen. The basketball department started its own business in 2002 as Bremen Roosters .

history

The club was created in 1948 through the merger of SV Marßel, founded in 1912, with the gymnastics club in 1876 . Three years after the merger, the footballers made it to the Landesliga Bremen , which at the time was Bremen's top division. The team stayed in the upper house for two years before the club commuted between the association and district leagues until well into the 1970s . In 1972 the team was about to return to the Bremen House of Lords, but lost the necessary play-off against OT Bremen 3: 4.

The low point was reached in 1975 when the Lesumer crashed after two descents in a row in the district league. Thereupon the TSV succeeded two ascents in a row, before 1979 the promotion in the now called association league succeeded the highest Bremen league. For the next 29 years, TSV played in this league, but mostly played against relegation. In 1981, the team saved themselves through the better goal difference compared to VfB Lehe . In 1994 the TSV was qualified for the newly created Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen , but decided not to participate.

A year later and in 1998, Lesumers achieved their best placements in the club's history with third place. In 2008, the TSV finally rose from the association league and was passed through to the district league. Since the promotion in 2011, the team played in the Landesliga Bremen . From this she rose in 2019 with 201 goals conceded.
