The gymnastics and sports club Bramsche (short: TuS Bramsche ; full name: TuS Bramsche von 1877 eV ) was founded in 1877 and is the largest sports club in Bramsche with around 3,000 members. The rowing department, which provided several participants in international teams, is successful. The basketball department was a first division club in the early 1990s. The association has a total of 19 departments.

Total club

The association is divided into 19 departments: basketball , archery , health sports , handball , judo , canoeing , kick boxing , athletics , orienteering , cycling , rowing , chess , swimming , taekwondo , dance sports , table tennis , gymnastics , volleyball and hiking .

The main focus of the association is acquisition of sports badges, interdisciplinary youth and child labor as well as excellent activities in health sports. We have long-term partnerships with sports clubs in Harfleur ( France ) and Ra'anana ( Israel ). The club has its own magazine, SportSpiegel , which is published three times a year.

TuS Bramsche has already achieved a number of national and international successes and has produced a number of athletes in rowing who competed at the Olympic Games and World Championships , including Regina Kleine-Kuhlmann (OS 1984), Felix Övermann (World Cup 2004-2009) and Nils Ipsen (World Cup 2003 and 2004).

basketball

In 1990 the rise of the basketball division of the basketball league could be celebrated. In the first season 1990/91 the playoff round could be reached, while in the 1991/92 season the relegation was only secured after successfully completed the relegation round.

In 1992/93 the TuS Bramsche formed a syndicate with the AHC Juventus Nahne from Osnabrück under the name BG Bramsche / Osnabrück. Again the playoff round could be reached. In 1993, professional basketball was spun off into the newly founded BG Bramsche / Osnabrück e. V. The playoff round could be reached again in 1993/94 .

After the economic difficulties of BG Bramsche / Osnabrück, the Bundesliga license was transferred in 1994 to SG Bramsche / Osnabrück, a syndicate made up of TuS Bramsche and the newly founded Bramscher Basketball Club. In the 1994/95 season , SG Bramsche / Osnabrück managed to stay up after a successful relegation, but due to renewed economic difficulties, those responsible decided to sell the Bundesliga license to SG FT / MTV Braunschweig .

The first men's team of TuS Bramsche is currently playing in the Regionalliga Nord.
