The culture and sports community Leimen (KuSG Leimen) is a sports club in Leimen (Rhein-Neckar district).
history
The KuSG was created in 1945 from the merger of the individual clubs German Gymnastics Club 1887 , Free Gymnastics Association 1907 and Deutsche Jugendkraft 1924 , which were independent before the Second World War . In autumn 1945 the American military government allowed the establishment of a new association in Leimen. Peter Disegna was elected first chairman. The association soon had around 900 members and around ten departments were affiliated with it. After the currency reform, the departments of the large association gradually disbanded and the old associations became independent. So in 1953 the soccer department of VfB Leimen came into being .
The sports handball, gymnastics and athletics with around 100 members remained under the name KuSG. In 1959, the basketball department was founded, today the most successful division, the women of which became German runner-up in 1967. The volleyball department followed in 1974, the ski department in 1976 and the leisure department in 1979. In 2004 the Domino Circus was founded.
