2010/2011 season

In 2011 the men were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga Pro B Nord under coach Alois Buschmann. As the second-placed team in the 1st Regionalliga West, they benefited from the SG Sechtem's waiver of promotion. The women were relegated to the regional league.

2011/2012 season

For the 2011/12 season, Torsten Schierenbeck took over as coach of the Buschmann men's team. In the end, the team reached 6th place in the 2nd Bundesliga Pro B North, which was achieved despite many injuries and only a few experienced second division players. The BG relied on seven players from its own offspring. In the first play-off round , the BG Dorsten was eliminated against the Uni Riesen Leipzig. The narrow 82:85 defeat in the first leg in Leipzig was followed by a 67:74 home defeat and the end of the season. The newly formed women's team took tenth place in the 1st regional league.

2012/2013 season

The men found themselves in the lower part of the table in the 2012/2013 season and had to go into the relegation round after the end of the regular season in order to create a possible relegation there. After the last day of the relegation round, the men's team was relegated back to the 1st regional league. Coach Schierenbeck left the club after the season.

2013/2014 season

The men started the new season of the 1st regional league with a newly formed team under the direction of coach Ivan Rosic.

2015/2016 season

After a majority of the participants at an information event in January 2016 voted in favor of a merger of the BG with the BSV Wulfen , the plans were specified and a corresponding working committee was formed in May 2016.

Season 2016/2017

In November 2016, the proposed merger with the BSV Wulfen failed when the majority of the BSV members voted against the necessary amendment to the statutes at a general meeting.

The season ended in the 1st Regionalliga West in sixth place in the table. The cooperation between the BG and coach Rosic was not continued after the end of the season, successor was Besart Kelmendi, who previously coached Dorsten's women's team. In 2013 Kelmendi had already given the BG his commitment to act as a men's coach, but had to withdraw it for professional reasons.

Season 2017/2018

In mid-October 2017 there was a separation from Thomas Herrmann, the sporting director of the men's team, who had taken over the office again before the season. The reason given was that "the views of the Dorsten board on the composition of the regional league men's squad could no longer be reconciled with his." In November 2017, head coach Kelmendi was relieved of his office due to the weak start to the season, and Franjo Lukenda was appointed as his successor.

Season 2018/2019

The men's team of coach Lukenda finished the season in the 1st regional league in fifth place in the table. The outstanding BG player of the season was the American Emeka Nwabuzor, who scored an average of 22.2 points per match and was the team's best scorer. He also came up with further averages of 8.2 rebounds, 5.6 basket assists and 2.4 ball wins. In April 2019, the BG men won the WBV Cup. The last time a Dorsten team succeeded in doing this was in 1982.

The team, which continues to be supervised by Franjo Lukenda, finished the season in the 1st regional league , which was canceled due to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, in mid-March 2020 in twelfth place in the table and thus in third from bottom .
