TuS Iserlohn
The gymnastics and sports community Iserlohn 1846 e. V. , TuS Iserlohn for short , is a sports club from Iserlohn , in which various types of sport are practiced. With around 3,300 members, it is the largest sports club in the area. Both leisure and competitive athletes are active.
In the summer of 2012 there was a major change in the club when the football department merged with Sportfreunde Oestrich-Iserlohn to form FC Iserlohn 46/49 . Originally, the footballers from Borussia Dröschede should also flow into the merger club, but this was rejected by the Dröschede members.
The first soccer team started in the district class in 1947 and entered the association league in 1973, where they became runner-up in 1981. With participation in the DFB-Pokal 1978/79 and 1981/82 , but when they were eliminated in the first round, this was the most successful time. 1993-1997 they played again in the regional league, then again in the association league, where in 2000 the league promotion just missed. After relegation to the regional league in 2004, the spectacular 2004/2005 season followed, in which they did not get a single point and consequently relegated to the regional league.
