The DSC Dellwig 28 (officially: Deutscher Sportclub Dellwig 1928 eV ) was a sports club from the Essen district of Dellwig . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Lower Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in August 1928. In 1949, the team secured the Ruhr district championship with an 8: 1 final victory over TuS Essen-West and rose to the state league , which was the highest amateur league at the time. After only one year the direct relegation followed before the Dellwiger were passed straight through to the district class. Only in 1953 succeeded in returning to the Ruhr district class, which could be held until 1963. In terms of sport, the club never went beyond the district level and moved into the newly built district sports facility on Lewinstrasse in 1982. In 2001 the DSC Dellwig 28 joined the football department of the lawn and water sports club Dellwig , RuWa Dellwig for short . That association was founded in 1925.
