The VfL Pinneberg e. V. is a non-profit mass sports club from Pinneberg . He is a member of the Freiburg Circle .

history

The VfL Pinneberg e. V. among other things, the successor of the then oldest after the Second World War still exist gymnastics, games and swimming club from 1888 e Union. V. In December 1945, the union of all Pinneberger sportsmen to one club, the Verein für Leibesübungen Pinneberg e. V. decided; it was the clubs "Union", free gymnastics and sports club from 1899, which still existed at the time. V. Pinneberg, and the football club from 1918 e. V. Pinneberg to which the athletes club "Doppeleiche" had joined as a division in 1933 in order to keep the possibility of existence.

Association today

For many years, VfL Pinneberg was the largest sports club in Schleswig-Holstein . The leadership of the LSV hit list of sports clubs had to be given up. Today VfL Pinneberg is still the third largest club in the state with 5125 members after the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and the Kieler MTV .

Soccer

The first soccer team of VfL Pinneberg became champions of the Hamburg-Liga in 1964, 1968, 1971, 1973, 1975 and 1977 and in 1973 won promotion to the second-class Regionalliga Nord . Due to the introduction of the new 2nd Bundesliga , however, the immediate relegation followed. The promotions in 1975 and 1977 in the third-class Oberliga Nord were over after a year. From 1994 to 2004 the club played in the Oberliga Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein. In the 2009/10 season in the Hamburg regional league season Hammonia . In the 2010/11 season, the club managed to return to the top Hamburg division as champions of the Hammonia regional league season . The first team has been trained by the former St. Pauli professional Michael Fischer since 2005. He is supported by the assistant coaches David Fock (since 2006) and Börje Scharnberg (since 2012). In 2019 the team rose back to the national league with just three points and 199 goals conceded.

The 2nd team is trained by Heiko Klemme (trainer) and Marcus Juergensen (assistant trainer). After Klemme took over the team in the 2010/2011 winter break, he led them through the promotion round to the District League West of the Hamburg Football Association in the same season. After 5th place in the 2011/2012 season, the team was able to celebrate the championship title of the District League West in the 2012/2013 season and thus rise to the state league.

The club plays its home games in Stadium 1 at Fahltsweide 15 in Pinneberg.

basketball

The men's basketball team played in the 2nd basketball league from 1976 to 1980 and 1984/85 .

The women's basketball team played in the 2nd women's basketball league in the 2005/06 season.

In 2011 the VfL basketball department founded the BG Halstenbek / Pinneberg together with Halstenbeker TS. In the spring of 2012, the men's team under coach Zoran Krezic was promoted to the 1st regional league and relegated again in 2013.

volleyball

Since 2019 the volleyball players have formed a syndicate with Halstenbeker TS.

The club's first men's team plays in the 3rd division north .

In the 2008/2009 season the team won the Hamburg championship and the Hamburg cup, was promoted to the regional league and was able to take part in the regional cup. In 2011, with a 2nd place in the regional league, they were promoted to the newly introduced Third League North, in which the team has since landed among the top five teams.

The volleyball players are assigned to the Hamburg Volleyball Association, and the first men from VfL Pinneberg have always been the most successful HVBV team in recent years.

2nd men: association league, 3rd men: district league, 1st women: district league, 2nd women: district class.

hockey

In the 2009/2010 indoor season, seven youth teams will take part in official matches.

Dance sport

The dance sport department has various very successful tournament couples. Among other things, the TSA provides a final pair of the German Championship Standard 2009: Michael Wenger and Melanie Ahl.

Diving

The VfL Pinneberg diving group is one of the most active groups in the Schleswig-Holstein state diving association. It is characterized above all by intensive diving training activities and regular diving events in northern Germany.

Floorball

The sport of floorball has been represented at VfL Pinneberg since October 2009 within the “Fitness Gymnastics and Health Sports ” department.

Gym

In addition to classic and modern trend sports, the club also has its own fitness studio.

Further tasks

Since January 1, 2005, VfL has taken over the sponsorship of a care group for the Thesdorf elementary school. The sports club took over this sponsorship, which until then was in the care of the city of Pinneberg.
