2nd Bundesliga basketball league 1984/85

The 1984/1985 season was the tenth season of the 2nd basketball division in Germany.

It was played in two groups, north and south, each with ten teams. After a single round, however, the first four teams of a season played from the 1984/1985 season with the two poorly placed teams in the basketball league from a two-pronged promotion round, the winners of which rose to the basketball league or stayed in it. Since the basketball Bundesliga was increased from ten to twelve teams, the second of the promotion rounds rose. The remaining teams played a relegation round in their relays. In the relegation round, all points from the main round were taken. Due to the assigned regional leagues, two teams were regularly relegated from the northern relay and three teams relegated from the southern relay, but due to the additional promotions to the basketball league, one team less per relay relegated.
