The 2. Basketball Bundesliga 1975/76 was the first season of the 2. Basketball Bundesliga , which began playing on September 28, 1975. In the north and south groups, each with ten teams, promotion to the first Bundesliga was played out.

mode

It was played in two groups, north and south, with 10 teams each. There were one promoted and three relegated teams. From the 1975/1976 season there was no more draw. According to FIBA rules , the games have now been extended until a winner has been determined.

Founding members

The list of founding members consists of relegated members from the basketball league and promoted members from the regional leagues. Since the first division became single-track in the course of the league reform in the same year and was consequently reduced from 16 to 10 teams, the proportion of relegated teams in this league with seven teams is very high. Five other teams are also former first division clubs and two second teams are among the promoters.

Only league affiliations prior to this season are given. Later affiliations can be found in the list of German basketball teams .

  • TG Hanau - 1974/1975 first division.
  • SG BC / USC Munich II - community of USC and TSV 1860 Munich . The first team remained first class. First division membership: since 1967 as USC , 1966 to 1968, 1969 to 1971 and since 1974 as TSV 1860 .
  • USC Mainz - first division team from 1966 to 1975.
