2. Basketball Bundesliga 1990/91

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1990/1991 season was the sixteenth season of the 2nd Bundesliga .

mode

It was played in two groups, north and south, each with twelve teams. The placement round introduced two years earlier was abolished. After a single round, the six best-placed teams of a season played a promotion round, the champions of which were promoted to the basketball league. The teams from places 7 to 12 of a relay played a relegation round in which the relegated teams were determined according to the number of Bundesliga relegated players and the assigned regional league promoted teams. Due to the assigned regional leagues, two teams descended from the northern relay and three teams from the southern relay. Both in the promotion and relegation round, all points from the main round were taken.

Participating teams

Group north

In addition to the regular promoters of the 1989/1990 season , two other clubs rose to the basketball league. TuS Herten took the vacated space that was created by the merger of SSV Goldstar Hagen and the basketball department of TSV Hagen in 1860 to become Brandt Hagen. Furthermore, the BSC Saturn Cologne and Galatasaray Cologne withdrew completely from gaming operations due to financial problems. Godesberger TV took the place after various requests from the association. Accordingly, there were two additional promoters from the regional leagues in the northern season.
