Game operation

Men

With the beginning of the 1990/91 season, the Saxon Football Association established a national league again with the regional league. The structures that already existed in GDR times were retained as the substructure. In the same way as the 3 administrative districts of Chemnitz, Dresden and Leipzig, there were still 3 district leagues and 9 district leagues: 4 in the Dresden district association , 3 in the Chemnitz district association and 2 in the Leipzig district association . This game operation structure in the state and district area remained stable for over 20 years until the end of the 2010/11 season, regardless of all demographic developments. At the district level, the game operations structure was adapted to the existing district structures.

It was not until the beginning of the 2011/12 season that the SFV set a turning point in games below the state league. Due to the 2008 district reform, the structure was adapted to the new circumstances in the period up to summer 2011. The district associations were dissolved on June 30, 2010 and 13 of the former 28 district associations remained - the division of which is essentially based on the layout of the 3 independent cities and 10 districts. As a result, the game operations below the national league were restructured with the start of the 2011/12 season.
