Historical football department

After the end of the war, the club had to fight with great difficulties and had to suspend the game for a year. For decades, the footballers from Sennelager did not get beyond the district level and in 1966 they had to start the second district class. At the same time, the operating team at the axle factory of the entrepreneur Josef Peitz was very successful. Peitz struggled to find enough skilled workers for his factory and recruited 45 skilled workers through job advertisements to strengthen the football team.

Finally, those responsible for the TuS Sennelager contacted the entrepreneur with the result that numerous players from Peitz's operating team strengthened the TuS Sennelager. Meanwhile, Josef Peitz took over the chairmanship of TuS Sennelager, while Ingolf Bollhorst, the authorized signatory of his concrete plant, became the association's manager. After four ascents in a row, the team reached the national league in 1970 and was there one point ahead of the Herford SC champions. In the third class association league , at that time the highest amateur league in Westphalia, the TuS was able to establish itself in the midfield. Twelfth place in the 1971/72 promotion season followed a year later in ninth place. At the same time, Sennelager took on the sporting leadership role in the city for the first time.

Today's football department

From 1978 the TuS Sennelager again provided a football department. This produced a second division player in Ardian Jevric and a Bundesliga player in Claudia Bujna . The first men's team rose to the district league A for the first time in 2007 and then made it to the district league in 2016. This was followed by direct relegation, before the second promotion to the district league followed in 2020.

The women's team has existed since 2006 and has played in the regional league since 2013 after two consecutive promotions. The greatest success was fourth place in the 2014/15 season.

tennis

The men's tennis team made it to the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2017 . It was the sixth ascent in a row, which was not least due to the financial commitment of the entrepreneur Ralf Hämmerling. There TuS Sennelager surprisingly secured the championship after a 6: 3 victory at the Club an der Alster from Hamburg . Since TuS Sennelager does not have a facility suitable for the Bundesliga, it was not clear for a long time whether the club would perceive promotion to the Bundesliga . Finally, the club reported for the Bundesliga.

The season 2019 ended the TuS seventh place and thus managed to avoid relegation.
