Schiavone was also involved in Italy's first Fed Cup victory . In 2006 she won the competition with her teammates Mara Santangelo , Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci with a 3-2 victory over Belgium . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , Schiavone also competed for Italy. In the individual she was eliminated in the third round against Vera Swonarjowa (6: 7, 4: 6); in doubles she lost the quarter-finals against Flavia Pennetta's side against the Bondarenko sisters from Ukraine, who were sixth, with 1: 6, 6: 3, 5: 7.

On February 21, 2016, Schiavone surprisingly won the WTA tournament in Rio de Janeiro after a long dry spell ; they defeated Shelby Rogers 2: 6, 6: 2, 6: 2 in the final and returned to the top 100. In 2017 she was able to win another clay court tournament, this time the WTA tournament in Bogotá. She was allowed to start there thanks to an invitation, as she was no longer classified in the top 150 of the world rankings.
