Rogers, who could just as easily have imagined a career as a hockey player but then decided to play tennis like her older sister Sabra, has been competing in tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit since 2009 . In July 2012 she won her first singles (in Yakima) and doubles (Denver) titles. In the 2013 season, three more ITF tournament victories were added.
In 2010 she was able to take part in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time with a wildcard for the US Open . However, she was eliminated in the first round against Peng Shuai . In 2012 she did better at the French Open when she immediately reached the second round on her first push into the main draw. In 2016, she was surprisingly even in the quarter-finals. Then she improved to number 49 in the WTA world rankings by August .
