Personal

Nicole Gibbs caused a stir on the sidelines of the Australian Open in 2018 when she admitted that she was being treated for depression . She said that the specifics of the sport of tennis tended to worsen the symptoms she had been experiencing since high school . Due to the conditions of sport - a lot of exercise, a lot of travel and a long time away from family, friends and acquaintances - she has not been able to lead a normal family life since she was ten. Lifestyle and livelihood are constantly dependent on the results achieved and these imponderables are not conducive to mental health.
