Francesca Di Lorenzo (born July 22, 1997 in Pittsburgh ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Di Lorenzo started tennis at the age of seven and prefers to play on clay courts. She mainly plays tournaments on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has so far won three tournaments in singles and two in doubles.

In the junior singles of the US Open 2014 , she reached the second round. In 2015 she reached the semi-finals in junior singles at the US Open .

As a college player, she played for Ohio State University from 2014 to 2017 . She won the singles title of the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships twice in a row in the 2015/16 college tennis season in 2015 and in 2016 in the 2016/17 college tennis season . In the same year she was invited to the American Collegiate Invitational 2016 , which was taking place parallel to the Us Open, but was unsuccessful in the first round. At the 2017 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships she won the doubles title with her partner Miho Kowase .

In 2017 she won the American Collegiate Invitational 2017 in the women's singles against her compatriot Ingrid Neel with 4: 6, 6: 4 and 6: 4. In the same year she received a wildcard for qualifying for the US Open 2017 in women's singles, where she lost to Nicole Gibbs 6: 7 0 and 5: 7. In women's doubles , she and her partner Allie Kiick also received a wildcard for the main draw , where they failed very close in the first round on Japanese doubles Eri Hozumi and Miyu Katō with 6: 7 5 and 6: 7 4 .
