Wesley Chapel is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pasco County in the US state of Florida with 44,092 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Wesley Chapel is located about 25 km southwest of Dade City and about 20 km north of downtown Tampa and borders directly on the New Tampa borough in the south . Florida State Roads 56 and 581 cross the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 44,092 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 17,601 households. The population density was 2808.4 inh / km². 75.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 11.4% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 5.7% as Asian Americans . 4.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.6% to several ethnic groups. 20.1% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 17.8% of all households lived in 43.5% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 75.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.80 people and the average family size was 3.22 people.

30.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 28.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 13.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 35 years. 48.4% of the population were male and 51.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 73,288, with 6.6% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 89.33% of the population, 9.84% spoke Spanish and 0.83% had another mother tongue.
