New Port Richey East is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pasco County in the US state of Florida with 10,036 inhabitants (as of 2010).

New Port Richey East is bordered by Port Richey to the northwest and New Port Richey to the southwest . The CDP is located approximately 50 km southwest of Dade City and approximately 50 km northwest of Tampa .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 10,036 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 5,266 households. The population density was 1079.1 inh / km². 91.5% of the population identified themselves as whites , 2.4% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 1.6% as Asian Americans . 2.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.0% to several ethnic groups. 10.2% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 34.9% of all households lived in 24.4% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 57.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.80.

21.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 28.2% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 45 years. 47.7% of the population were male and 52.3% were female.

The median annual income was $ 31,738, with 19.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 93.46% of the population, 3.54% spoke Spanish and 3.00% had another mother tongue.
