Zephyrhills South is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pasco County in the US state of Florida with 5276 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Zephyrhills South is directly adjacent to Zephyrhills to the north and is located about 15 km south of Dade City and about 30 km northeast of Tampa . In the CDP which leads Florida State Road 39 in the US Highway 301 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5276 inhabitants were distributed over 4460 households. The population density was 1044.8 inh / km². 94.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.3% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 0.6% as Asian Americans . 1.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.4% to several ethnic groups. 5.3% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 12.4% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 60.1% of all households. 61.8% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.01 people and the average family size was 2.45 people.

12.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 12.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 20.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 54.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 63 years. 48.6% of the population were male and 51.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 33,087, with 14.7% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 97.25% of the population, 1.71% spoke Spanish and 1.04% spoke French .
