Jasmine Estates is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pasco County in the US state Florida with 18,989 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Jasmine Estates borders directly on the city of Port Richey in the southwest and is located around 50 km west of Dade City and around 50 km north of Tampa . The CDP is affected by US Highway 19 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 18,989 inhabitants were distributed over 9,303 households. The population density was 2041.8 inh / km². 88.3% of the population identified themselves as white, 3.5% as African-American , 0.5% as Native American and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 3.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.7% to several ethnic groups. 14.2% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 33.8% of all households lived in 31.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 63.5% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.43 people and the average family size was 2.93 people.

25.6% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 25.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 25.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 47.5% of the population were male and 52.5% were female.

The median annual income was $ 30,596, with 24.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 89.51% of the population, 4.57% spoke Spanish and 5.92% had another mother tongue.
