Eri Hozumi ( Japanese 穂 積 絵 莉 , Hozumi Eri; born February 17, 1994 in Hiratsuka , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese tennis player .
Career
Hozumi began playing tennis at the age of eight, her preferred surface is the hard court. So far, she has won five singles and 19 doubles titles at the ITF Women's Circuit .
In April 2016 she achieved her first success on the WTA Tour at the side of her compatriot Miyu Katō . In May she reached 61st place in the double world rankings ; She achieved her best ranking in doubles so far on January 30, 2017 with position 29.
In February 2015, Eri Hozumi made his debut for the Japanese Fed Cup team ; their previous Fed Cup record shows 12 wins with only three defeats.
On June 10, 2018, she reached the double-finals of the French Open , which she and her partner Makoto Ninomiya lost to Barbora Krejčíková / Kateřina Siniaková with 3: 6 and 3: 6.
