Erin Routliffe (born April 11, 1995 in Auckland , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand tennis player .

Career

Routliffe was born in New Zealand to Canadian parents. She started tennis at the age of six and prefers hard courts. She played her first professional tournament in June 2009 in Waterloo , and she received her first world ranking points in October 2011 when she reached the quarter-finals at the tournament in Saguenay .

She played her first tournament on the WTA Tour in August 2012 at the Rogers Cup , where she received a wildcard for qualification . There she defeated Megan Moulton-Levy 6: 3 and 6: 4, before losing to Iveta Benešová 2: 6 and 2: 6 in the second round of qualification . After this tournament she was placed 591 in the individual world rankings, her best ranking so far.

She and her partner Maya Jansen received a wildcard for the double competition at the US Open 2015 . However, they were already defeated in the first round of qualification by the pairing of five seeded Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears .

Her greatest individual success to date was reaching the finals at the $ 25,000 tournament in Winnipeg in July 2016, where she lost 4-6 and 1-6 in straight sets against the American Francesca Di Lorenzo . In doubles, she and her partner Laura Robson reached the finals of the $ 50,000 tournament in Granby , where they were defeated by Australian doubles Jessica Moore and Storm Sanders 5-7 and 2-6. At the beginning of October 2016, Routliffe won her first tournament in doubles together with her partner Andie K Daniell at the US $ 10,000 tournament in Charleston .

At the ASB Classic in Auckland , Routliffe received a wild card for both singles and doubles qualification together with her partner Jade Lewis . Both in singles against Dalila Jakupović and in doubles against the pairing Shūko Aoyama and Makoto Ninomiya , the tournament was over after the first match.

As a college player, Routliffe won the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships in women's doubles together with her partner Maya Jansen in both 2014 and 2015 .
